Casa Kupuri 32

Casa Kupuri 32 holds one of the more prestigious addresses in Kupuri Estates, the most private of Punta Mita's communities, behind the gate that closes the peninsula off from the Riviera Nayarit. The villa is sized for a group that wants to be together without living on top of one another.

Five bedrooms and one additional suite share six bathrooms, and the house takes twelve guests without strain. The extra suite is the useful room: for the couple arriving a day late, for the family who want their own end of the house, for whoever needs to work while everyone else is out. The gourmet kitchen is set up for real cooking, and the concierge can arrange what the kitchen does not cover.

There is one pool, and it turns out to be enough, because the day tends to collect around it. Someone swims early. Someone reads through the middle of the afternoon. The two six-passenger golf carts sit ready, which means the house can leave in two directions at once, one group toward the golf, another toward the beach clubs, and still come back together by evening. The concierge can put together excursions when anyone wants one, including a morning out to the Islas Marietas, the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that lies offshore.

Premier Golf membership comes with the villa. It opens both Jack Nicklaus Signature courses, including the Pacifico's hole 3B, the only natural island green in the world, reached by boat when the tide allows. The practice facilities, the clubhouse and Punta Mita's private beach clubs come with it.

Air conditioning and high-speed WiFi are here for the hours that call for them, which tend to be fewer than expected.
