Casa Brisa

Casa Brisa means Breeze House, and the name reads as a description rather than a flourish. The villa stands oceanfront in Kupuri Estates, the most private of Punta Mita's addresses, and the Pacific air moves through the rooms for most of the day. A good deal of how the house is arranged follows from that.

Seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms hold fourteen guests. The scale is generous rather than grand, and nothing in the finishes insists on being noticed. The gourmet kitchen anchors the house, ready for your own cooking or for the private chef the concierge can arrange, who will have visited the morning market and the day's catch long before anyone thinks about lunch.

Outside, several pools take the same air the house is named for. Days here tend to arrange themselves. Someone swims first thing. Breakfast runs long. The afternoon goes to whoever wants it: the water, the shade, a book, the six-passenger cart carrying a group off toward the beach clubs while the four-passenger one waits for whoever changes their mind. From November to March the humpbacks pass along this coast, and the Islas Marietas, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, lie offshore for the mornings when someone wants a boat.

Premier Golf membership comes with the house. It opens both Jack Nicklaus Signature courses, including the Pacifico's celebrated hole 3B, the only natural island green in the world, reached by boat when the tide allows. The membership also covers the practice facilities, the clubhouse and access to Punta Mita's private beach clubs.
