Casa Yeiya

Casa Yeiya is in Kupuri Estates, on the quiet side of Punta Mita's gated peninsula on the Riviera Nayarit. Multiple terraces wrap the house, each one facing the Pacific from a slightly different angle, so the same view is never quite the same view twice in a day.

Six bedrooms and an additional suite hold fourteen guests, with seven bathrooms, which is to say nobody waits for anything. The extra suite earns its keep the way extra rooms usually do: it becomes the room for whoever arrives late, or the room the children claim, or the room that stays empty all week and is still worth having. The gourmet kitchen is the working centre of the house.

Two six-passenger golf carts change how the days run. One group can leave for the beach clubs in the morning while another goes out after lunch, and neither has to wait on the other. What stays behind is the private pool, the terraces, the shade, and long stretches of time nobody has assigned to anything. From November to March the humpback whales move along this coast. The Islas Marietas, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, lie offshore, and the concierge can arrange the day out there whenever the mood arrives.

Premier Golf membership comes with the villa, and it covers more than the golf: both Jack Nicklaus Signature courses, the practice facilities, the clubhouse, and Punta Mita's private beach clubs. The Pacifico course holds hole 3B, the only natural island green in the world, reached by boat when the tide allows.
